From previous discussions, I have shared the story of Alan Wake up to Episode 3. Are you prepared for the next story? Let's not waste anymore time and proceed with the discussion centered on Episode 4.

Episode 4: The Truth

Alan woke up in a mental institution named Cauldron Lake Lodge. Dr. Hartman greeted him and revealed that he had been there for quite some time. The reason for his admission was the trauma caused by Alice's death at Cauldron Lake. All of the bizarre incidents that Alan encountered were simply illusions, a result of his schizophrenia, paranoid delusions, and fascination with light. Darkness surrounded Alan. Dr. Hartman showed him around and introduced him to the other patients who were all artists. One of them was Anderson Brothers Tor and Odin from a former rock band called Old Gods of Asgards. The power suddenly went out and, as Dr. Hartman prepared to examine Alan, he was instructed to return to his room and continue writing. Alan had previously stated that the encounter was helpful therapy. The Anderson Brothers rambled about the Dark Presence and instructed Alan to locate the message on their farm, Anderson Farm.

Alan thought that the Anderson Brothers were more understandable than Dr. Hartman regarding his state. He was compelled to write in his room despite not yet fully recuperated. This occurrence strengthened Alan's suspicion that something peculiar was happening at Cauldron Lake Lodge. The Anderson Brothers started a riot, so Alan took the chance to escape. He became sure of his suspicions about Dr. Hartman after stumbling across a photo linking the two of them. It was then revealed that Ben Mott was actually Dr. Hartman's messenger. Hartman wants Alan to complete the Departure script, but the motive is unclear. The truth is now revealed. Eventually, it is disclosed that Dr. Hartman falsely claimed to suffer from a mental illness just to retain Alan at Cauldron Lake Lodge until he finishes the Departure script. Alan visits Dr. Hartman's office to get the Departure script, but he first meets Barry. Barry informs Alan about his experience after the police found him at Rose's home and realized he was a victim. Dr. Hartman instructs Barry to pick up Alan from Cauldron Lake Lodge. When Alan arrived, two of Dr. Hartman's associates attacked him and put him in a room. Eventually, Alan acquired the Departure script, and Dr. Hartman requested cooperation. But Alan declined, and at that moment, the Dark Presence arrived. Alan trapped Hartman in the room, but he himself was consumed by the Dark Presence. Alan escapes from the Cauldron Lake Lodge and goes to the Anderson Farm. He enters the Anderson Brothers' house and discovers a message in the form of a song lyric that reads "Find The Lady of The Light". He enters the Anderson Brothers' house and discovers a message in the form of a song lyric that reads "Find The Lady of The Light". It reminds Alan of Cynthia Weaver. Finally, Alan and Barry sleep. Alan has a dream about the night Alice disappeared and remembers in detail the events of the week after he leaped into Cauldron Lake.

Before I continue with the story, I will explain what actually happened to the many strange events that always happen in this Alan Wake game.

In the universe of Alan Wake there is a Dark Place, which is a dimension where art can influence and rewrite reality. This dimension is also the lair of the Dark Presence, which can influence anyone and turn them into Taken. The Dark Place is located at the bottom of Cauldron Lake in Bright Falls. The town of Bright Falls itself is an ordinary town, but all of this strangeness began in 1970. After a volcanic eruption.

In that year, a poet named Thomas Zane owned a cabin on Cauldron Lake. He often spent writing poems about strange creatures and associating them with Cauldron Lake, usually with the help of his girlfriend, Barbara Jagger. One day, Zane told Barbara about the treasure at the bottom of the lake, and the curious Barbara went diving for it. Unfortunately, Barbara mysteriously drowned in Cauldron Lake and Zane tried to find her. with scuba gear, but he still couldn't find her. Barbara's death felt very strange, because according to her Barbara was a professional swimmer. Tom's assistant Emil Hartman, who turns out to have knowledge of the supernatural abilities of the Dark Place, where the and convinces Tom to resurrect his beloved by writing a poem about Barbara's Barbara's resurrection. Barbara is successfully resurrected, but the Dark Presence has also risen and has affected Barbara Jagger. Realizing that the resurrected Barbara was not his was not his lover, Zane tied her to a chair and tried to kill her by removing her heart, but in vain. The Dark Presence was still in Barbara's body. Desperate, Zane once again again used the Dark Place ability, writing down everything involved, including himself, the island in the in Cauldron, and his cabin from reality. This is what caused the volcano to erupt in 1970. But in the end, the Dark Presence was able to roam free and affect the townspeople of Bright Falls one by one. of Bright Falls one by one. Hartman managed to escape and founded the Cauldron Lake Lodge, where he posed as a psychiatrist and took in artists he deemed "sick. He does this in in order to study the figure of the Dark Presence and exploit it for personal gain.

About 40 years later, in 2010, Alan and Alice arrive in the town of Bright Falls and are tricked by Barbara Jagger. by Barbara Jagger to stay in a cabin that should no longer exist.

Back to the main story, in Alan's memory, when Alice was drowning, Alan tried to help her but failed. After that, Barbara Jagger appears and plays with Alan's mind, convincing him that Alice is dead but can still be saved by writing. Influenced, Alan wrote a book called Departure in order to save Alice, but in fact this only made the Dark Presence rise even more. For a whole week, Alan wrote the Departure script under Barbara's influence. Alan, who still has some consciousness, writes about his efforts to escape the Dark Presence, and he also writes Zane into his story. Zane, in the form of a diver, managed to reach the cabin and revive Alan. Alan ran out of the cabin and used his car to escape as far as possible, but he had an accident. This explains why Alan suddenly woke up in the car with a head wound and no memory of anything. When he woke up, Nithingale's agent was pointing a gun at Alan.

Episode 5: The Clicker

Alan and Barry are imprisoned and Agent Nithingale seizes the Departure manuscript. When the power goes out and Alan experiences a headache, Agent Nithingale assumes he's acting foolishly. He pointed his gun at Alan and suddenly remembered that the events were just as they were written in the Departure script. Before he could prove his point, he was attacked by the Dark Presence. After seeing this, Sheriff Sarah believed in Alan and assisted him in finding Cynthia Weaver. Finally, the three of them left via helicopter. Long. In short, the trio met Cynthia at the power plant and she led them to the "Well Lit Room," which was adorned with bright lights in various spots. In the center lay a box that held a piece of manuscript. Paper written by Thomas Zane. The story tells of Alan's childhood and how his mother gave him a clicker object to destroy the darkness. It was then that Alan realized he was a character made by Thomas Zane to defeat the Dark Presence. Before Zane drifted into Cauldron Lake, he wrote about Alan Wake who would come to Bright Falls to defeat Dark Presence. Zane knew that defeating Dark Presence was a daunting task, so he invented Alan. Inside the box, there is more. Alan had given the clicker to his wife before, but it still ended up being in his possession. This was due to Zane's script. Alan's ultimate goal was to use the clicker to save Alice in Cauldron Lake.

Episode 5: Departure

In short, Alan arrived at Cauldron Lake, and while clicking his flashlight, he jumped into the lake and ended up in the Dark Place. Using his flashlight, Alan located the cabin at Cauldron Lake, which had previously vanished, and then entered it, meeting Barbara Jagger there. chest hollowed out by Zane who had removed her heart in 1970. Alan then inserted the clicker into the hole and flicked it instantly killing Barbara Jones and the Dark Presence. That way he could write the ending of the Departure story on the typewriter in the cabin. The The ending he wrote succeeded in rescuing Alice and defeating the Dark Presence that consumed the city of Bright Falls. However, Rose was spotted holding a flashlight like Cynthia, and behind her was agent Nithingale, transformed like Barbara Jagger due to the influence of the Dark Presence. Alan is stuck in the Cauldron Lake cabin. He cannot write about everyone’s safety right away because stories often involve people who have to make sacrifices.

Notes: The mysterious voice that always helps Alan in his subconscious is Thomas Zane.
